Welcome to the Monroe Street Fine Arts Center! Since 1997, our nonprofit school of the arts has been a magnet for students young and old who desire high quality instruction in art and music. The Arts Center is a friendly place, alive with the sounds of music-making and the energy of art-making. Our teachers are phenomenal musicians and artists in their own right, dedicated to nurturing talent in others. Altogether, teachers, students, and their families create a special community of individuals developing, sharing, and appreciating artistic expression.
MSFAC is located in the dynamic Dudgeon Monroe Neighborhood, accessible by foot, bus and car, with ample parking nearby. Look for us under the red banner that says “Amplify Art”!
So said one of our teachers. The Monroe Street Fine Arts Center is a welcoming environment where kids and grown-ups come together to learn, make, and share art and music. For over ten years, we have been a non-profit community school of the arts, offering individual lessons, group classes, and opportunities for exhibits, performances, and other forms of self-expression. MSFAC is a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, a nationwide association of non-profit community schools of the arts.
Each year we touch the lives of more than one thousand students, and families and friends. Our students, families, teachers, and staff form a community of people who delight in creativity. At any time you might hear the sounds of music lessons mingling with the buzz of art projects underway, or preschool movement classes.
Come see for yourself! We're open Monday through Friday during business hours, and most evenings and weekends. Take a tour of the Center. Attend a recital. Observe a class and visit with any of our 35 faculty members. Take up their challenge: pick up a paint brush or violin bow!
Whoosh! The Monroe Street Fine Arts Center is a special place, bursting with the energy of art-and-music-making. We look forward to welcoming you and the kids in your life.
In 1997 Founding Directors Barbara Goy and Anne McDermott had a vision to start a neighborhood community arts center on Monroe Street, where art, drama and music lessons all occurred under the same roof. Barbara and Anne set the standard that we carry on today, over ten years later: making the learning and sharing of quality, creative arts accessible and inclusive.
At MSFAC, we embrace a wide spectrum of arts. We offer private music and art lessons; classes for toddlers through adult in music, art, and creative movement; special workshops; and over 100 summer camps. Browse our many offerings to see what takes us beyond our ordinary selves, our ordinary days, into that one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime world of art.
We are committed to a standard of excellence: our teachers are talented artists and musicians, dedicated to the art of teaching art. They are passionate about the potential of art to transform individuals and enrich the community's quality of life.
We're conveniently located in the wonderful Monroe Street neighborhood between Klinke Cleaners and Pasqual's Restaurant, close to Wingra Park.
