- Suzuki Music Program
Our 2008 Fall Semester consists of 14 private lessons, scheduled with your instructor, between September 2 and December 15 (no regularly scheduled lessons during Thanksgiving week.)
Music-making is one of life's greatest and lasting pleasures, one that can be shared with friends, family and even a larger audience. Individuals of all ages and levels reap lifelong benefits from music training, practice, and performance.
MSFAC has been offering high quality music instruction since 1997. Our music faculty consists of talented, professional musicians who are skilled and dedicated teachers. Each has chosen to teach here because they enjoy being part of this special community of colleagues, students, and families, all learning how to better express themselves through music and art.
Meet and Greet!
For prospective new students, we recommend a half hour introductory lesson scheduled at your convenience with one of our teachers. The cost is $15.
Suzuki Music Program
MSFAC offers Suzuki instruction in piano and strings to children as young as three years old. Students learn to play an instrument in the same manner as they learn to speak and read ("mother-tongue approach"). A parent must attend the student’s lessons, help with practice at home, and attend a one-hour Suzuki Parent Workshop each semester.
Tuition & Payment Information
There is a one-time non-refundable family registration fee of $30. Fall tuition covering 14 private lessons is:
- $175 for 15 minute lessons (Suzuki only)
- $350 for 30 minute lessons
- $525 for 45 minute lessons
- $700 for 60 minute lessons.
Tuition can be paid in full upon registration or in three equal payments: 1) upon registration; 2) on Oct. 1; and 3) on Nov. 1. A limited number of scholarships are available to families in need of financial assistance.

Fun with Music Theory & Note Reading
Music theory is the study of how music works. It is a kind of grammar for notes and rhythms that includes the relationships between notes (intervals, scales and harmony), the function of notes in a phrase, and the overall structure of a piece. Understanding music theory helps a student read, write and perform better. Music Mind Games is a fun approach to music theory and reading for young students. The elements of music are brought to life in a series of games, each teaching some aspects of music theory.
